Who needs an off road camper trailer?

Basic camper tent trailers deliver the minimal requirements of shelter and a place to sleep and store the things you might need for your camping holiday, the more advanced and expensive trailers can offer a whole lot more with features such as built in kitchens, solar and battery power, refrigeration, large king size bedrooms in some cases.  These types of camper trailers are often used for the longer more adventurous camping trips to the more remote areas of Australia and the extra features can make an extended trip much more comfortable and enjoyable.  Not quite a caravan but they do have their advantages. Campers planning to see the harder more challenging to reach areas where the tracks often become sandy, rough or rocky or you plan to hit some of the beaches with your 4wd and camper trailer in tow then it might be wise to look at a purpose built heavy duty setup.  If you have great ground clearance with your car then it’s  a very good idea to have a similar levels of clearance with your trailer so it’s not bottoming out in deep wheel tracks and ruts or collecting rocks and logs suffering damage along the way.
